The first attempt went wrong. Even though the teak dowel was very sturdy since I hadn't given any joinery to keep it intact for the faces to look upfront. Hence, it was really hard to fasten the seat while keeping the dowel upright. I didn't want a joinery or rather could have it because The first attempt we did was in the evening so lack of proper lighting affected the process. The next day we tried it again. I also didn't like how regular yesterday's trial was. The criss-cross we did was too regular and there was only one intersection point. I wanted it to look more raw and natural and even though that meant I had to decide on a pattern for it the result should look like it it's done more freely and almost shabbily. It was really really hard for me to explain this to the craftsman. He was very used to making things in a uniform pattern and followed the basic style of wrapping. His name is Mukesh and he runs a local business of making custom cane furniture and installations in Indore.

Surprisingly we found his contact through a famous chain of restaurants we go to - Socials. The ceiling and installations of cane in that space were done by him and he single-handedly managed the whole project. This was precisely why convincing him to come for such a small task to my house was difficult.
