For polishing the furniture, I looked for more environmentally friendly options and discovered a plant-based, one-step oil with 0% VOC. The absence of volatile organic chemicals makes it safer for both the applicator and the user. It also has a very high coverage area of 300-500 ft2 /liter, so very little oil was utilized. The brands that have this technology in the UK is Rubiomonocoat and in India its Naturcoat. They have a very similar colour palette so it would be easy for me to use either in the future. However Naturcoat is less than half the price of Rubiomonocoat. Both use a Part A and Part B solutions. Part A is the oil of the colour of your choice and Part B is basically wax that makes it smoother. The ratio of Part A and B is 1:3.
Since I bought samples of both brands, to achieve my stain I used 3 parts of Naturecoat Chocolate brown, 3 parts Rubimonocoat Oil + 2C and parts and 2 parts of Part B wax making it a perfect 3:1 ratio.
I ordered a full box of nature-coat and experimented with more than 6-7 colors before I reached my final choice. I wanted it be not dark and not too warm either. A perfect shade of my flat white coffee.
